Two garden plots are to have the same area. One is square and one is rectangular. The rectangular plot is 4 meters wide and 9 meters long. How large is one side of the square garden plot in meters?

    area of rectangle = L x W = 9 x 4 = 36

    area of square = S^2

    so 36 = S^2, square roof of 36 is length of the side, which is 6
