We know that the person chosen at random likes comedy. Let f be the number of females who like comedy. Let m be the number of males who like comedy. Let n be the total number of people who like comedy. Note that n = m + f. We can use the results from the table to find these values. Now what is the probability that the random person is female? The probability is f / n. Basically, the probability is (the number of females who like comedy) divided by (the total number of people who like comedy).
