    Girls / boys : 6/2 = 48/b

    cross multiply

    (6) (b) = (2) (48)

    6b = 96

    b = 96/6

    b = 16

    so if there is 48 girls, then there is 16 boys for a total of 64 total members

    Since the ratio is 6:2, girls:boys, we can do 48 girls divided by the ration so 48/6, which equals 8. Then, to get an equivalent ratio, we do 2 x 8 = 16. Finally, add 16 to 48 to get 64
