Together Nancy and Joe do 95 haircuts a week. If Nancy does 16 fewer than twice as many as Joe, how many haircuts does each person do

    Joe = x

    Nancy = 2x-16

    x + 2x-16 = 95

    3x-16=95

    3x = 111

    x = 111/3 = 37

    Joe does 37 haircuts

    Nancy does 2 (37) - 16 = 58 haircuts
