Julian purchases one tank that is in the shape of a triangular prism, and another tank that is in the shape of a triangular pyramid. Both tanks have congruent heights of 28 inches and bases that are both triangular shaped with a base of 24 and a height of 25. He wants each tank to hold at least 30 gallons of water. Which tank can hold at least 30 gallons of water? Round your answer to the nearest whole number.

    First, we need to find the volume of the prism.

    It is: V = (24 x 25) / 2 x 28 = 8400 in^3

    Since there are 231 cubic inches in a gallon, so there are 36.4 gallons in the tank. 8400 / 231 = 36.4

    The pyramid would only have one-third of the volume.
