To find the answer we must calculate her comission earnings for $45.000 and for the amount she sold above $45.000 (in our case, 51.000 - 45.000 = 6.000). So in total we have 6/100 * 45.000 + 8/100 * 6000 = 2700 + 480 = 3180.
