A company is going to make an oil container in the shape of a cylinder. As shown below, the container will have a height of 8m and a diameter of 12m. The container will be made from steel (including its top and bottom). Suppose the total cost of the steel will be $17,408.16. How much will the steel cost per square meter? Use 3.14 for π, and do not round your answer.

    Answer: the cost of the steel per square 0.03m

    Step-by-step explanation:

    The formula for determining the total surface area of a cylinder is expressed as

    Total surface area = 2πr² + 2πrh

    Where

    r represents the radius of the cylinder.

    h represents the height of the cylinder.

    π is a constant whose value is 3.14

    From the information given,

    Total surface area = 56π

    Radius = Diameter/2

    radius = 12/2 = 6

    height = 8 feet

    Therefore,

    Area = 2 * 3.14 * 6² + 2 * 3.14 * 6 * 8

    Area = 226.08 + 301.44

    Total surface area = 527.52

    Suppose the total cost of the steel will be $17,408.16. the steel cost per square meter is

    527.52/17408.16 = 0.03
