Calculate the largest rectangular area one can enclose with 14 inches of string?

    The correct answer to this question is 12.25 sq inches.

    The largest rectangle is a square.

    So if you divide 14" by 4 then you get 4 3.5" sides.

    Area of a rectangle = L*W

    Area of a rectangle = 3.5 * 3.5

    Area of a rectagle = 12.25 sq inches
