    Let w be the width

    Then the length is 2w - 2

    We also know that the perimeter is 62 cm. The perimeter is the distance around the rectangle, or 2w + 2 (2w - 2).

    So, 2w + 2 (2w - 2) = 62

    2w + 4w - 4 = 62

    6w = 66

    w = 11

    So, the length is 2w - 2 = 2 (11) - 2 = 22 - 2 = 20

    Length = 20 cm

    Width = 11 cm
