He worked 42.25 hours.

For the first 40 hours, he got $9.20 each hour.

40 hours times $9.20 = $368.

So how much did he get paid for the other 2.25 hours?

He is paid 1.5 times $9.20 each hour after that.

That's $13.80 an hour.

Times two hours is $27.60.

27.6 + 368 = Only $395.60!

Even if he got paid for that quarter of an hour, a quarter of $13.80 is only $3.45, which puts him at $399.05--still not more than $400.

NO, in working 40 hrs x $9.20 he earned $ 368.00 overtime pay is $9.20+$ 4.60 = $ 13.80 per hour $13,80 x 2.25 hours=$31.05 $368 + $31.05 = $399.05 which is less than $400
