Well, to find the total number of students in Jamie's class, You need to make 3/8 with 9 in the top of the equation. To make 9 on the top, you also need to change the bottom of the fraction. So, 3 goes into 9, 3 times so we know the top is 9 and because we multiplied the top by 3, what we do to the top we must do to the bottom. So 8*3=24 and the fraction would be 9/24, so the 9 would who likes soccer and the 24 would be the total amount of kids in the class.

SO, there are 24 students in the class and 9 love soccer
