A cyclist accelerates at a rate of 7.0 m/s2. how long will it take the cyclist to reach a speed of 18 m/s?

    At constant acceleration the equation is

    v = u + at where u = initial speed, a = acceleration. t = time and v = final speed

    So here we have 18 = 0 + 7t

    t = 18/7 = 2.6 seconds (to nearest tenth)
