    The answer = 8 and the work goes as the following

    you multiply the 4 outside the brackets by the numbers inside so it becomes:

    12x-28=36+4x

    and then you bring the like terms together

    12x-4x=28+36

    12-4=8 so

    8x=64

    and then you divide by 8 so

    x=64 divided by 8

    x=8
