    X + 2x + 4x + 8x + 16x + 32x = 4 tonnes of peanuts; where x represents how peanutseats the elephant first day;

    63x = 4000 kilograms;

    x = 63,49 kilograms;

    On the second day, 2 * 63,49 = 126,98 kilograms ≈ 123 kilograms.
