    Y = (x - 1) ² + 2

    y = (x² - x - x + 1) + 2

    y = (x² - 2x + 1) + 2

    y = x² - 2x + (1 + 2)

    y = x² - 2x + 3

    x² - 2x + 3 = 0

    x = - (-2) + / - √ ((-2) ² 4 (1) (3))

    2 (1)

    x = 2 + / - √ (4 + 12)

    2

    x = 2 + / - √ (16)

    2

    x = 2 + / - 4

    2

    x = 1 + 2

    x = 1 + 2 x = 1 - 2

    x = 3 x = - 1

    y = x² - 2x + 3

    y = (3) ² - 2 (3) + 3

    y = 9 - 6 + 3

    y = 3 + 3

    y = 6

    (x, y) = (3, 6)

    or

    y = x² - 2x + 3

    y = (-2) ² - 2 (-1) + 3

    y = 4 + 2 + 3

    y = 6 + 3

    y = 9

    (x, y) = (-1, 9)
