62% of Nate's class came to see one of his performances. If 186 students saw his performance, how many students are in Nate's class?

    Meaning, to find 30% of 100 you would divide 30 by 100 (getting. 3) and then multiply 100 by it. It would be 100x. 3 = 33. 33 is 30% of 100.

    However, in this case, we know the percentage of kids but not the total. To find the total, we do the opposite of multiply (divide)

    186:.62 = 300

    There are 300 students in Nate's class
