Peter buys a hamburger for $5.00, french fries for $3.75 and a large soda for $2.25. He hands the cashier a $5.00 food voucher and a $20.00 bill. How much change is he owed?

    9 dollars is his change. 3.75 + 2.25 is 6 plus 5 is 11. Then subtract 20-11=9
