For the orchestra concert, the orchestra director has asked that everyone wear either black pants or a black skirt. Five times as many students wore black pants as black skirts. If there are sixty students in the choir, how many wore a black skirt?

    1. Analyze: There are 60 people total and there is 5x more pants than skirts. This outrules 60 and 50.

    2: Testing put all of your numbers into an equation. Since you need the total to be 60 you can do this. I am using p (pants) S (skirts for my example. S+S5=60 10 works in this equation.
