    Based on the given data, the box and whisker plot is constructed and shown below.

    Total number of visitors in each month = 100

    If you observe the plot of January, you will find that 40 is the 2nd Quartile or the Median value. 50% of the values lie above 40.

    So in January, 50% of the visitors were over the age of 40.

    50% of 100 is 50.

    So,

    In January 50 visitors of the beech were over the age of 40.

    In July, 40 occurs at the 3rd Quartile. Only 25% of the values lie above 3rd Quartile. So In July 25% of the visitors were over the age of 40.

    25% of 100 is 25.

    So,

    In July 25 visitors of the beech were over the age of 40.

    Thus, in January, there were 25 more visitors over the age of 40 who visited the beech than in July
