1. The function h = - 4.9x2 + 40x + 1 gives the height of a baseball after it has been hit

until it lands on the ground.

The variable, h, gives the height of the ball in metres.

The variable, x, gives the time in seconds after the ball is hit.

[a] Use the TABLE function of a graphing calculator to show a table of values for the

height of the ball until it hits the ground.
