In 1904, a dictionary costs 30 cents. Since then the cost of a dictionary has risen an average 6 cents per year.

Write a linear equation to find the cost (C) of a dictionary (y) years after 2004.

    200*.06=12+30=12.30

    The linear equation could be y=6x+30 where x represents the number of years since 1904. there fore to find the dictionary after 2004 then you woud make x=100 then you can solve for y which would be the cost of the dictionary in cents.
