Consider the line y = - 5/4x+4. What is the slope of a line parallel to this line? What is the slope of a line perpendicular to this line?

    Parallel means it has the same slope.

    Slope in thisproblem is - 5/4.

    This means the slope of the parallel line is also - 5/4.

    Perpendicular is the reciprical of the slope.

    Flip the slope and make it + / -.

    The slope would be 4/5.
