    If you have

    f (x) = ax²+bx+c

    the equation of the axis of symmetry is x=-b / (2a)

    so

    f (x) = 2x²-12x-20

    a=2

    b=-12

    axis of symmetry is - (-12) / (2*2) = 12/4=3

    x=3 is da equation
