    The area is given by:

    A = (w) * (l)

    Where,

    w: width

    l: length

    Substituting values we have:

    63 = (w) * (7w)

    Clearing w we have:

    w ^ 2 = 63/7

    w = root (9)

    w = 3 feet

    Answer:

    the width of the hallway is:

    w = 3 feet
