A handy conversion to memorize is: 88 feet per sec = 60 mph

So, if Liza is running at 5.8 mph that equals 5.8 * (88/60) =

8.5066666666 ... feet per second which IS faster than 88 feet per second and that IS running fast enough to exceed 8.8 feet per second.
