    x = 1/4y^2

    Vertex form is written as x = a (y-k) ^2 + h

    Using the given equation determine the values for a, h and k:

    a = 1/4, k = 0, h = 0

    The vertex of a parabola is (h, k) = (0,0)

    Find the distance form the vertex to a focus using the formula 1/4a

    from above we know a = 1/4 so now you have:

    1 / (4 (1/4))

    Simplify

    1 / (4 (1/4)) = 1

    p = 1

    The focus is (h+p, k)

    Using the values you have:

    Focus = (0+1, 0)

    = (1,0)
