A pilot traveling 175 miles per hour encounters a head wind of 35 knots. If there are 1.15 knots per mph, what will her true speed be in miles per hour? (Round to the nearest mph.)

    We multiply 35 time 1.15, which equals 40.25 mph.

    Then we subtract. 175 - 4.25 = 134.75

    Round, and you'll get 135mph
