What would be the slope of the line perpendicular to the line 4x + 2y = 12?

    4x + 2y = 12

    Make y the subject:

    4x + 2y = 12

    2y = - 4x + 12

    y = - 2x + 6

    From the equation, we can identify that the slope is - 2

    Therefore the perpendicular slope will be 1/2
