(x + 4) 2 = x2 + 8x + 16

(x + 5) 2 = x2 + 10x + 25

(x + 6) 2 = x2 + 12x + 36

Each product is in the form ax2 + bx + c.

C is the square of half of b.

This is evident in all products,

    (6/2) ² = 3²

    = 9

    (8/2) ² = 4²

    = 16

    (10/2) ² = 5²

    = 25

    (12/2) ² = 6²

    = 36

    (b/2) ² = c
