If an expression has an equal to sign, it is called an equation.

If it has less than or greater than sign, then it is called inequality.

It is also an inequality if it has greater than or equal to or less than or equal to signs. (≥, ≤)

    The sum of 1 & x is x+1

This sum is less than 5

    So we have

    x + 1 < 5

    Now y minus 2 means

    y - 2

Now it says 3 is less than (y-2)

    So we get

    3 < y - 2

    1)

    the sum of 1 and x is less than 5 = > x + 1 < 5

    2)

    3 is less than y minus 2 = > 3 < y - 2

    3 < y - 2 and the other answer is 1 + x < 5 or 1x < 5 one of the two
