The answer is B. In a fibrous root system, there is no primary root; a prolific mass of thin equal-sized roots spread out from the stem. Grass is an example of this type. A. describes a taproot system. There is a primary root which grows thicker and usually much deeper into the ground, with thinner secondary roots sprouting from the main.
