A soccer field is rectangular and measures 100 yards by 60 yards. a soccer ball is randomly kicked onto the field. if it is equally likely that the ball will come to rest anywhere on the field, what is the probability that the ball will come to rest inside a circle in the middle of the field that has a radius of 10 yards? use 3.14 for pi and round your answer to the nearest whole percent.

    The answer is: b. 5%

    You multiply 100 x 60 to get 6000

    You then get the radius by doing A = π*r^2 = πd^2/4 which is 314.159 (rounded).

    Divide 314.159 and 6000 to get 0.05235 or 5%.
