    6 pieces of apples

    Step-by-step explanation:

    1/4 = 3/12 = cherries

    2/3 = 8/12 = pears

    8 times 6 equals 48

    pears = 48/72

    cherries = 18/72

    pears + cherries = 66/72

    apples = 72/72 - 66/72

    apples = 6/72 = 1/12
