Jane is building a tank for her pet snake. The tank's minimum length should equal two-thirds of the snake's length, and the tank's width should be equal to half the snake's length. Jane's snake is 2 1/2 feet long. Calculate and explain how to find the dimensions of the tank.

    To find these amounts, we simply multiply the length of the snake by the given fraction.

    For the length, multiply by 2/3.
