The length of a rectangle is twice it's width. If the perimeter is 60 feet, find the dimensions.

    Perimeter = length * 2 + width * 2. x = width. 2x = length. perimeter = 2 (x) + 2 (2x). perimeter = 2x + 4x. 60 (perimeter) = 6x. divide both sides by six. x = 10. width = 10. length is 2 (width), so length is 20.
