same as before, distribute the common factor outside and simplify by adding like-terms.

    4 (x+8) = 4x + 32

    5 (x-3) = 5x - 15

    therefore

    4 (x+8) + 5 (x-3) = > 4x + 32 + 5x - 15 = > 9x + 17.
