An animal shelter spends $1.50 per day to care for each cat and $8.50

per day to care for each dog. Levi noticed that the shelter spent $119.50

caring for cats and dogs on Tuesday. Levi found a record showing that

there were a total of 33 cats and dogs on Tuesday. How many cats were

at the shelter on Tuesday?

    Answer:23 cats and 10 dogs

    Step-by-step explanation:

    8.50 x 10 = 85

    23x1.5 = 34.5

    34.5+85 = 119.5

    you cant have more than 14 dogs without going over the budget so i selected a number less than 14 which was 10 then the rest I put as cats
