Vanessa chooses one slip of paper from each bag without looking.

The random variable X is the product of the numbers on the slips of paper.

    The sample space for this event would be:

    2&3; 2&4; 2&5; 2&6;

    3&3; 3&4; 3&5; 3&6;

    4&3; 4&4; 4&5; 4&6;

    5&3; 5&4; 5&5; 5&6

    There are 16 possible outcomes. Out of these, only 5 would have a product between 12 and 15:

    2&6; 3&4; 3&5; 4&3; 5&3

    This makes the probability 5/16.
