    Given:

    Day Hamburger Hot dog Sales

    1 200 150 1,450

    2 200 250 1,750

    Let y be the price of the hamburger and x be the price of the hot dog.

    200y + 150x = 1,450

    - (200y + 250x = 1,750)

    - 100x = - 300

    x = - 300/-100

    x = 3

    Each hot dog costs $3.

    Day 1:

    200y + 150 (3) = 1,450

    200y = 1,450 - 450

    200y = 1,000

    y = 1,000/200

    y = 5

    Day 2

    200y + 250x = 1,750

    200 (5) + 250 (3) = 1,750

    1000 + 750 = 1,750

    1,750 = 1,750

    The cost of a Hamburger is $5 while the cost of a Hot dog is $3.
