What is the sum of the fractions below?

2/3x + 5/3x

    It is B. 7/3x. You only have to add the numerator. You can't add or multiply the denominators. Because you have same denominator, you just need to pull one of them and use it as a denominator.

    2/3x + 5/3x

    2+5=7

    7/3x

    Your answer would be 7/3x since the equation is adding not multiplying. If it were a multiple then it might be x^2 but in this case it's not. Your answer would be B
