First work inside of the parenthesis. You want to put the 3 inside of the square root, so multiply it times itself, then times the two inside of the square root. You should get (sqrt 18). Now that it's all inside of a square root, you can multiply the two numbers together. Multiply (sqrt 2) times (sqrt 18) and you will get (sqrt 36). Simplify it, and the square root of 36 is 6, so the answer is 6.
