In figuring his net income, Mr. Halkides listed his salary income of $15,000, $258 from his dividends, and $2562 from the sale of property. His deductions included $1346 in taxes, $1598 in business expenses, and $48 in interest payments. What was his net income?

    Net income is all cost factors put together, so total income minus total expenses.

    15000 + 258 + 2562 = 17820

    1346 + 1598 + 48 = 2992

    17820 - 2992 = $14828
