    Step-by-step explanation:

Given that a survey from the Department of Motor Vehicles was given to local residents in the city of Slothville.

L = the event that the person has a driver licence and

L' = the event that person does not have a driver licence

    P (L) = 0.60 and P (L') = 0.4

Out of L, 30% had atleast one traffic violation and out of L', 20% had atleast one traffic diversion.

Probability that an individual does not have a traffic violation

= Prob of L and no traffic violation + Prob of L' and no traffic violation

    = 0.60 (1-0.30) + 0.40 (1-0.20)

    =0.42+0.32

    =0.74
