    4a+2b - (2a-3b) - (a-b)

    Distribute the Negative Sign:

    =4a+2b - (2a-3b) + - 1 (a-b)

    =4a+2b+-2a+3b+-1a+-1 (-b)

    =4a+2b+-2a+3b+-a+b

    Combine Like Terms:

    =4a+2b+-2a+3b+-a+b

    = (4a+-2a+-a) + (2b+3b+b)

    =a+6b
