A driver fills up his car's tank with 23 gallons of gas. After he drives 325 miles, he stops for fuel, and 12.5 gallons are needed to fill the tank. How many miles per gallon did he get?

    23-12.5=10.5

    325 divided by 10.5 gives you the mpg

    the answer is 30.9 rounding out to about 31 miles per gallon.
