The length of a train car is 50.6. This is 5.8 feet less than 6 times the width. What is the width?

    9.4 I'm pretty sure. If you have to show work its

    50.6+5.8=6w

    56.4=6w

    9.4=w

    L is 5.8 less than 6 time W

    L=-5.8+6W

    L=50.6

    50.6=-5.8+6W

    add 5.8 to both sides

    56.4=6W

    divide both sides by 6

    9.4=W

    width=9.4ft
