    5x^2+100=0

    assuming to salve for x

    isolate the x term

    subtract 100 from both sides

    5x^2=-100

    divide both sides by 5

    x^2=-100/5=-20

    square root both sides

    x=√-1 times √4 times √5=i times + / - 2 times √5

    i=√-1

    the answer is x=-2i√5 or + 2i√5

    5 x^2 + 100 = 0

    5x^2 = - 100

    x^2 = - 100/5

    x^2 = - 20

    x = + / - sqrt ( - 20)

    x = + / - sqrt (-1 * 20))

    x = + / - sqrt (-1) * sqrt (20)

    x = + / - i * sqrt (4 * 5)

    x = + / - 2i sqrt (5)

    Answer: Option C
