Jade wants to visit her friends but wants to know if she can visit both of them without driving over 30km. Jade lives 11.4 km of east of her friend, Jessica. Her other friend, Olivia, lives 8.9km south of Jessica. If Jade visits both of her friends in one day, and goes directly from Jessica's, to Olivia's, and back to her house, will she be over or under her 30km driving distance?

    Well first you'd have to add

    11.4 + 8.9

    which equals 29.2

    so to answer the main question, yes she'll be under 30km.
