If f (x) = 5x - 4 and g (x) = 4x + 1, find (f - g) (x).

    (f - g) (x) = f (x) - g (x) = (5x - 4) - (4x + 1) = 5x - 4 - 4x - 1 = x - 5

    Answer is D. (x-5).

    =5x-4-4x-1
