The sume of of two numbers is 66. The larger number is two more than three times the smaller number. What are the two numbers?

    X+y=66. Let's assume y is the larger number. Y=3x+2. Plug in Y. x+3X+2=66 4X=64. Therefore, x=16. We plug in X, Y=16 (3) + 2=50
